We are working with local community groups and businesses along with UCL, Hackney Council and CRT on steering group to help develop and protect public interest for the land under the A12 flyover on the edge of Hackney Marshes. The aim is develop a sustainable safe community space for local residents and community groups to use for installations, learning, maintenance, exhibitions and many more activities. The site has previously been used by local artists and canal boat residents to house maintenance workshops and exhibitions as well as providing refuge. It has also been used for a temporary theatre project designed by Assemble with Create London during the 2012 Olympics. Traces of this installation can still be seen in the colourful cracked paving.
