The design proposes an innovative solution to meet the needs of affordable family housing in the area, bringing creative architecture with a sense of delight. The contemporary style is derived from a process of in-depth analysis and responds directly to its context. The form suggests a bookend to the terrace, highlighting and celebrating through juxtaposition the original street vernacular and craftsmanship of the late 19 century. It avoids pastiche and proposes instead a unique design of high quality. This application will provide a new 2/3 bedroom family dwelling. We believe it is a more appropriate use of the land, good utilisation of this brownfield site, and is in keeping with the residential nature of Latimer Road and the surrounding area. By developing what is essentially an unused derelict site we are aiming to mindfully offer a gentle and inspiring design for sustainable family accommodation.
